Jan. 17, 2012

Penny Hydraulics Ltd., a manufacturer of lifting and handling equipment in the United Kingdom, is introducing its Single Wheel Lift to the United States.

The Single Wheel Lift is designed "to promote safe and efficient tire handling on the service trucks of commercial tire suppliers," according to the company.

It features a capacity of 650 lbs. and can be mounted at the rear or side door of the truck for handling tires of all sizes -- including those from heavy trucks, fork lift trucks and mobile cranes. During transportation, the wheel and tire can be locked onto the lift for additional safety.

The unit's unique rollered platform and easy to operate locking device creates the ideal environment for repairing and re-grooving tires inside or outside the service vehicle, adds Penny Hydraulics. The company's customers include ATS Euromaster, which has 370 tire stores in the U.K.

Penny Hydraulics also markets its range of SwingLift flatbed mounted cranes, both manual and hydraulic with electric winches; the TireLift, which is used to move wheels and tires between the first floor and mezzanine or second floor; and solid tire presses.
