Coker Tire Co.'s new Firestone Dirt Track tire and Lakester wheel are designed for the nostalgia street and hotrod market.
The Dirt Track comes in a variety of sizes, including 500-15 and 500-16, with ribbed fronts and grooved rear tread styles.
Coker will add two more 15-inch grooved rear sizes in 2003.
The tire is being built using both original molds and new molds recreated from original Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. blueprints.
"These tires represent what we hope will be the first of many more vintage racing tire offerings," says Kendall Kaylor, Coker's marketing communications manager.
Coker's recently introduced Lakester Wheel is available in 15- and 16-inch sizes and vintage, "kidney bean"-shaped styling.
It is manufactured by Wheel Vintiques.
