Brodsky Steps Down as Leader of Retread Tire Association

Dec. 6, 2016

Harvey Brodsky, founder and managing director of the Retread Tire Association (RTA), is stepping down from the organization's top spot, and handing the day-to-day management role to his "right hand man," Jeffrey Parks.

In a letter to RTA members, Brodsky said ongoing health problems forced him to step down as managing director, though he said he has "no plans to exit our industry or to leave RTA."

"As many of you already know, I was involved in a serious accident followed by a failed back surgery that left me disabled from walking well and in intractable pain. At the time I was certain that I would fully recover with treatment and that I would be able to resume my full time activities (including travel) as the managing director of the Retread Tire Association. Unfortunately, that has not been the case," Brodsky wrote.

And of Parks, Brodsky wrote, "I have known Jeffrey Parks for more than 30 years. For the last five years, he has become RTA's right hand man. With training, experience, knowledge, full familiarity with and passion for the retreading industry, I can say with full assurance that Jeffrey is fully ready to take over the responsibility of leading.

"Both Jeffrey and I are excited about working together through RTA on your behalf for many years to come."
