Fleet customers who have a card account with Comdata Inc. now have access to discounted pricing on light truck and passenger tires from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
In 2019 Comdata announced its national tire program for fleets, and at the time it included only truck, trailer and retread tires. A year later, and the company is adding more than 1,600 SKUs for Goodyear's PLT tires. Comdata says the program offers fleets discounts up to 65% off tires at more than 3,000 locations across the U.S.
“We recognize that the current economic environment has placed a greater strain on fleets and owner operators amid the pandemic,” says Justin King, senior vice president of product and innovation for Comdata’s North American Trucking Division. “For over 50 years, Comdata has supported fleet owners and drivers with access to resources that keep vehicles on the road, while improving operational efficiency.”
Comdata says its discounts average more than $200 off the lowest advertised tire price on commercial truck tires. The company says the tire discount is among the services it offers to help fleet customers lower costs, stay compliant, and access the capital they need to be efficient.
“This program has been a success since we launched it in 2019,” says King. “By expanding our offerings, Comdata continues to stand by its commitment to its customers.”
In 2019 King told Modern Tire Dealer that more than 10,000 fleets with more than 100,000 trucks used the company's MyFleet card.
The program already includes discounts on commercial tires from Goodyear (Goodyear, Kelly and Dunlop brands), as well as Bridgestone Americas Inc. (Bridgestone and Firestone brands, plus Bandag retreads.)
