Sullivan Tire and Auto Service recently honored its two newest National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) World Class Technicians – Alfred “Buddy” Hayden and Nick Rose.

Out of an estimated 879,000 automotive technicians in the country, there are only a little more than 2,000 that have achieved the highest ASE status of World Class Technician, the company points out.

Rose, production manager at Sullivan Tire’s Sandwich, Mass., auto service location, earned his World Class Technician status after hours of hard work. He started with Sullivan Tire more than 10 years ago and has continued his personal and professional growth with the company, quickly moving from Master Tech to L1 certified to World Class Tech. Rose is constantly educating himself on the maintenance and functionality of new cars and is always happy to share his knowledge with his peers, reports Sullivan Tire.

Hayden is the production manager and site safety rep at Sullivan Tire’s Boston location. “Becoming an ASE World Class Technician took a lot of hard work. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone and required me to learn things that I’ve never been exposed to before in the automotive industry,” says Hayden, “I take a lot of pride in becoming an ASE World Class Technician. It took many hours of study and dedication to earn. In the technician world, this title is a true representation of what we do, and I’m honored to have achieved it.”

Hayden has been with Sullivan Tire for more than 10 years, which he credits with being his best career decision. Sullivan Tire encourages and supports all employees in furthering their automotive training and education, including covering the costs of ASE certifications, the company notes.

These technicians earned the highest level of ASE certification which covers 22 areas of specialty. Sullivan Tire has 15 World Class Technicians, 146 Master Technicians, and 235 ASE Certified Technicians.

Headquartered in Norwell, Mass., Sullivan Tire and Auto Service offers automotive and commercial truck care with 73 retail locations; 15 commercial truck centers; 14 wholesale satellite locations, two tire retread plants; two LiftWorks facilities; and two distribution centers.

It was founded by Robert J. Sullivan in 1955 with the motto, "Treat everyone, customers and fellow employees, as you would a member of your family,” and that tradition continues today.

Today Sullivan Tire continues to grow with over 1,200 employees and locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine.
