Michelin introduces new 80,000-mile tire

Aug. 19, 2002

Michelin North America Inc. is introducing its Harmony tire line with the help of American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD).

A special incentive program with ATD will support the 80,000-mile tire designed for sedans and minivans. The Harmony combines the benefits of Michelin's RainForce MX4 and 80,000-mile XH4 into a single line, according to the company.

The tire has four circumferential, see-through grooves designed to channel water out of the footprint area. Harmony tires are available in 13- through 16-inch sizes.

The incentive lasts from Sept. 1 through Oct. 25. It provides the following dealer benefits:

* Dealers who purchase 600 Harmony tires during the period will receive one Bose CD radio with remote.

* Dealers who purchase 400 Harmony tires will receive one Bose radio with remote.

* Dealers who purchase 150 Harmony tires will receive one pair of Bose 161 indoor speakers.

There is a limit of one gift per location.

ATD, formerly Heafner Tire Group Inc., also will offer members of its HeafNet Rewards program double points for Harmony sales during the promotional period.
