Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will supply tires to Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. as original equipment for the automaker’s new Subaru Impreza.
The Advan Sport V105 tires have been selected for the Impreza in Japan and Australia. In North America, the Avid S34 tires have been chosen.
The tire sizes are 225/40R18 88W in Japan and 225/40R18 92W in Australia for the Advan Sport V105 tires, and P225/40R18 88V for the Avid S34 tires.
The new Impreza was launched in Japan on Oct. 25, with overseas launches planned to follow sequentially. In addition, in Japan Yokohama emergency flat-tire repair kits are installed in the new Impreza.
Yokohama says the Advan Sport V105 was developed for high-power premium cars and delivers excellent driving performance combined with superior comfort and safety characteristics.
The Avid S34 is an all-season passenger car tire that contributes to higher fuel efficiency while also providing superior drivability and safety. The tire was developed by applying the basic design and materials technology used in Yokohama’s BluEarth global tire brand.
