Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) is a specialty tire manufacturer based in Sri Lanka. It recently extended its distribution reach by acquiring two privately held tire dealers in the U.S.: Leffler Industrial Tire & Rubber Track Inc. and Kentucky Industrial Tire Inc.

Leffler Industrial Tire is an Indianapolis-based company that specializes in industrial forklift tires for the material handling industry. It currently offers product and services in Illinois and Indiana. Kentucky Industrial Tire, based in Louisville and Lexington, offers the same products and services in Kentucky.

"GRI has been a trusted and reliable supplier for many years with a strong commitment to high quality industrial tires," says Mike Leffler, president of Leffler Industrial Tire and Kentucky Industrial Tire. "This union allows us to continue providing premium tires with outstanding service to our customers while expanding our footprint.”

Mike and Sherri Leffler founded Leffler Industrial Tire in March 2009 in Indiana and recently expanded operations in January 2016 to establish Kentucky Industrial Tire. The core products are solid resilient and press-on band tires for forklifts, polyurethane tires, construction tires, skid steer tires, OTR tires, and rubber tracks. Services offered include mobile onsite installation and poly fill solutions.

"Along with our long established office in Georgia, GRI will now be able to provide our customers in the U.S. products and services at a level beyond their expectations," says Prabhash Subasinghe, managing director of GRI.

In addition to the U.S., GRI has sales offices and warehouses in Germany, France, The Netherlands, and Australia. GRI supplies material handling, industrial, agricultural, OTR, and construction tires to more than 50 countries worldwide.
