Max Finkelstein Inc. wanted an upgrade to its 30,000-square-foot tire warehouse in Binghamton, N.Y. It found one five miles away.
The new 80,000-square-foot facility is located in Kirkwood, N.Y. Kirkwood is 165 miles northwest of New York City, 50 miles north of Scranton, Pa., 80 miles south of Syracuse, N.Y., and 140 miles southwest of Albany, N.Y.
"Consumer and commercial tire business throughout the Interstates 81, 86, 88 and 90 corridors continues to grow," says the company. "This new facility will allow MFI to enhance its first-class service with a more comprehensive inventory, ensuring unrivaled fill-rates."
Max Finkelstein is a regional wholesale distributor based in Astoria, N.Y. Established in 1919, the family owned and operated business distributes tires throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States. The company operates 13 distribution centers with 1.3 million square feet of warehouse space.
MFI is the largest independent distributor of Goodyear, Dunlop, and Kelly tires, and is also a program distributor for Pirelli, Kumho, Kenda, Carlisle, and other brands.
