Martins Industries Unveils Telescopic Tire Conveyor

Nov. 3, 2016

Martins Industries demonstrated its new telescopic tire conveyor at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

The company says the new product is the optimal solution for loading and unloading containers and trucks with the same conveyor. The length of the conveyor can be adjusted from 27 feet to 67 feet, allowing it to be positioned all the way in a container or truck. The conveyor’s wheels allow it to be easily moved and adjusted.

The speed of the belt can be adjusted from 60 feet per minute (20 tires/minute) to 160 feet per minute (55 tires/minute).

The height of the conveyor can be adjusted to allow tires to be kept at hip level, as directed by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).

Other benefits include eliminating demurrage fees, standby and drop trailer charges, reducing the number of doors needed with more trailer turns per door; and never block doors as two employees can easily fold and move the conveyor.

The telescopic tire conveyor will be available in April 2017. For more information, visit the company’s website.
