The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) says it supports the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Tire Industry Project (TIP) and its new roadmap for the tire sector, "Sustainability Driven: Accelerating Impact with the Tire Sector SDG Roadmap."

"Following the United Nations Agenda 2030, the global tire industry continues to seize opportunities for innovation and action to address supply chain enhancements, operational improvements and product impact," say USTMA officials.

"TIP’s roadmap for the tire sector will align not just tiremakers, but the automotive industry at large, so all can act collectively to identify opportunities
and create solutions to address the most pressing challenges across the industry value chain and its stakeholders.

"The USTMA and its member companies share the roadmap’s goals for safety and environmental stewardship, including mitigating climate change, increasing workplace safety, addressing tire and road wear particles and promoting sustainable end-use markets for scrap tires."
