Michelin Rolls Out Two Pre-Mold Retreads

June 3, 2021

Michelin North America Inc. has rolled out two new pre-mold retreads, the Michelin X Multi T-SA Pre-Mold and the Michelin X One Line Energy T2 Pre-Mold.

The Michelin X Multi T-SA Pre-Mold is designed "to address the scrub and stresses in spread axle and tag axle applications, while also providing superior mileage performance in regional and super-regional applications," according to Michelin officials.

It features a new, premium compound for enhanced scrub resistance and miles to removal, "maximum tread-to-shoulder adhesion" in high-scrub applications, groove-bottom protectors to guard against stone drilling and more.

The Michelin X Multi T-SA Pre-Mold is available with deep, 16/32-inch tread depth in the following: 185/225, 195/235, 205/245, 215/255, 225/265 and 245/265.

The Michelin X One Line Energy T2 Pre-Mold  is for line-haul applications and offers "better wear versus the Michelin X One Line Energy T Pre-Mold," which it replaces.

The new tread, which meets SmartWay requirements, "provides outstanding handling for increased driver confidence and has micro-sipes and a solid shoulder to help reduce irregular wear."

In addition, it features a winged tread for optimal shoulder adhesion to its casing, waved grooves to help prevent stone drilling, wide grooves for enhanced water evacuation and more.

The Michelin X One Line Energy T2 Pre-Mold is available "in a 375/425 tread base width/tread width" and a 13/32-inch tread depth. It will be available on July 1.
