GRI Expands Its Material Handling Tire Business in U.S.

July 6, 2021

Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) says it has identified expansion opportunities for its material handling tire line in the United States.

"We have made continuous efforts to develop our business in the U.S. and adopt market strategies according to the changing environment," says Gary Stevens, GRI's president of sales for material handling tires in the U.S.

"Customers are increasingly seeking solid tires that have consistent quality, longer running hours and lower rolling resistance - enabling higher energy savings and increased stability, supporting higher safety, which GRI provides because our tires are exceptional," he adds.

Earlier this year, GRI announced that it will outfit Kion Group forklifts with its Ultimate XT tires.

"With the pandemic, e-commerce boomed, which resulted in increased demand for warehouse facilities, forklift and truck operations and logistics," say GRI officials, who expect more material handling operations to adopt electric forklifts.

"Thus, there was increased growth in the material handling tire business."

Stevens says GRI took proactive measures to ensure a continuous supply of material handling tires to the U.S. market despite challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I had frequent online sessions with all the sales teams of our dealers to provide the required knowledge of our products and to keep our customers close. We also took steps to have sessions with sales personnel to look at new business avenues.

"Throughout the pandemic, we ensured that we had sufficient inventory of products to service our customers' daily needs," he explains.
