Aug. 3, 2021

Hankook & Co. has created an environmental, social and governance (ESG) committee that will help "strengthen" the tire manufacturer's "ESG management policies, strategies and activities."

Hankook is targeting 100% sustainable raw material use by the year 2050 and has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% versus 2018 levels.

Hankook's ESG committee "will be responsible for consulting, deliberating and recommending directions regarding environmental, social and governance businesses.

"The committee will be composed of seven members with more than half from outside the board in order to boost professionalism, as well as its function. The committee has appointed its first chairperson through a committee resolution."
