Tire Discounters Adds Execs to Power National Growth

Aug. 31, 2021

Tire Discounters Inc. has added two executives to its C-suite team, "doubling down on the company's efforts to support their exponential growth," according to Tire Discounters officials.

Former Wendy's executive and human resources leader Sheri Harper is stepping into the newly created role of chief people officer. And Jeff Rodgers, former chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Michelman Inc., has been named Tire Discounters' chief financial officer.

Harper's position was created to strengthen the dealership's commitment "to developing and supporting a deep bench of talent across the entire organization," which has 1,500 employees and more than 145 stores across six states.

Jamie Ward, Tire Discounters' president and CEO, says the chief people officer position "is a critical addition to further Tire Discounters' continued growth. We want to continue to build and retain our exceptional, customer-facing team who are the lifeblood of our company."

During her tenure at Wendy's, Harper provided strategic leadership to nearly 6,000 franchise and company-owned restaurants. She also has worked for Frisch's Restaurants.

Rodgers has more than a decade of experience serving in chief financial officer and chief operating officer roles across a variety of industries and companies.

At Michelman, he supervised five locations around the globe, including the Americas, EMEA, China, India and Asia Pacific Rim regions, setting direction and executing strategies that increased sale and profit growth across all five.

Tire Discounters, which is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, named Chris Yapp its new chief marketing officer earlier this month.

The company's founder, Chip Wood, was named MTD's Tire Dealer of the Year in 2020.

Tire Discounters is the eighth largest independent tire dealership in the U.S., according to the 2021 edition of the MTD 100.
