VIP Revamps Store in Auburn, Maine

Sept. 27, 2021

VIP Inc. has moved its VIP Tires & Service store in Auburn, Maine, into a larger space on the same property to meet growing demand.

The new space, a former pool hall, has been undergoing a renovation since January, and now the 11,000 square-foot space has 11 service bays, nearly triple the original four bays in the original space.

O’Reilly Auto Parts will remain in the old VIP store — which at one time was a VIP warehouse and expand its offerings onsite. VIP has a partnership with O'Reilly and the two often share space under one roof.

“After eight months of work, we’re excited to celebrate the opening of our newly renovated Auburn location,” says Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP Tires & Service. “We’ve been part of the Auburn community since the '60s, and in order to provide the best possible experience for Mainers seeking a reliable automotive professional to work on their car, the expansion and remodel was necessary. We look forward to this new location allowing for more capacity so we can continue to provide our transparent and customer-focused offerings to even more Auburn residents.”

VIP says the expansion will help it reduce wait times, while also giving it space for inventory to continue its mission to stock tires at every store to quickly serve customers. The store will offer a full array of automotive services, as well as a customer waiting area that features a TV area, laptop bar for work stations and renovated restrooms.

Rob Guptil will continue to lead the VIP team as manager for the new Auburn store and will oversee all operations at the location. The fully staffed store will include a 10-person VIP team.

The store is open seven days a week.
