Ford Calls New EV Investment 'Largest-Ever'

Sept. 28, 2021

Ford Motor Co. says it is making "the largest-ever U.S. investment in electric vehicles at one time by any automotive manufacturer."

The company - along with its partner, SK Innovation - plans to invest $11.4 billion at a "mega-site" in Tennessee and another in Kentucky.

The Tennessee site alone represents an investment of $5.6 million.

Ford will build its electric F-Series vehicles there. The facility also will include a battery plant.

The auto manufacturer intends to create a total of nearly 11,000 new jobs at the Tennessee and Kentucky facilities.
