GRI planted 450 rubber trees in Sri Lanka as part of its ongoing efforts to support local farmers.

Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) planted 450 rubber trees in Sri Lanka as part of its “Greening Our Planet” project which is part of a larger Green X Circle initiative.

“Our initial phase was about constructing a strong foundation with the natural rubber farmer in Sri Lanka,” says CEO Mahesha Ranasoma. From there the goal was to create an interdependent supply chain that connects the rubber farmer to the agricultural farmer using GRI tires.

The tree planting is part of GRI’s next step.

“We will augment the efforts of this initiative across our global markets by jointly working with our customers to conduct similar programs in their respective countries with the farmers as the next step,” Ranasoma says.
