The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has elected Gary D. Forsee, vice chairman of domestic operations for BellSouth Corp., to its board of directors.
Based in Atlanta, BellSouth is a "Fortune 100" communications services company that provides voice and data services to more than 46 million
customers in the United States and 15 other countries.
"We are pleased to welcome Gary Forsee, a seasoned business leader with global experience in operations, marketing and strategic planning, to Goodyear's board," said Sam Gibara, chairman and chief executive
officer.
Forsee, 52, is responsible for all of BellSouth's domestic operations. Prior to assuming that role he was president of BellSouth International. He joined BellSouth in 1999 after spending almost 30 years in the
telecommunications industry with SBC Communications, AT&T, Sprint and
Global One.
Forsee also serves as chairman of the board of Cingular Wireless, a joint venture of BellSouth and SBC. He is chairman of the National Board of
Trustees of the March of Dimes and also serves on the University of Missouri-Rolla Engineering School Advisory Council.
