Tire Industry Veteran Joe Jordan Dies

Dec. 20, 2021

Joe Jordan, who worked for Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp and Yokohama Tire Corp. before opening his own dealership, The Wheel Store, has died. He was 55 years old.

Jordan founded The Wheel Store in San Diego, Calif., in 2000 and later served as director of merchandising for Dealer Tire LLC from 2016 through 2018.

He recently worked as a commentator during SRO Motorsports Group America races.

“Joe Jordan touched so many lives," says Greg Gil, president and CEO of SRO Motorsports America. "He was quick to find common interests with anyone he met and turned those into friendships throughout the paddock."

“Jordan understood what the market needed and he was willing to hang his job, his career and his future on it," says Steve French, a longtime friend of Jordan's.

French says Jordan was instrumental in the development of several key products during his time at Toyo.

Jordan is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Jahna; and son, Joey.
