Darrold "Brent" Copeland, former president of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems subsidiary, recently died. He was 68 years old.
Born to Tom and Doris Copeland in Martin, Tenn., Copeland started his 46-year career with Goodyear as a tire builder at its Union City, Tenn., plant.
He ascended through a variety of positions within the company and was named manager of Goodyear's Lawton, Okla., passenger tire factory in 2010.
Copeland retired in 2017.
"Throughout his career with Goodyear, he made a monumental impact to people around him," according to his obituary.
Preceded by his parents; sister, Darra; and in-laws, Bill and Twila Bentley, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky; two sons; four grandchildren; and other relatives.
A celebration of his life will be held this spring.
