Hankook Adds More Volkswagen Fitments

Hankook Tire America Corp. will provide original equipment fitments on three Volkswagen models, the Golf GTI, Golf R and the Tiguan R.

The Golf GTI and Golf R will ride on Hankook’s ultra-high performance (UHP) tire, the Ventus S1 evo 3, while the Tiguan R will be fitted with the Ventus S1 evo 2 SUV or evo 3 SUV.

“The tires deployed on the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Golf R, and Tiguan R, are also ideal for everyday use, thereby further expanding our portfolio of original equipment. This shows once again the wide range of our products, which are designed to fulfil the most diverse requirements,” says  Moonhwa Hong, senior vice president and chief technical officer of OE Development at Hankook. “We placed particular emphasis on ensuring that the tires perfectly combine sportiness and the comfort required for a high level of everyday use.”

The sporty R variant of the Tiguan has 21-inch wheels and will be fitted with the Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV, while the Ventus S1 evo 2 SUV will fit the SUVs with 20-inch wheels.
