Bridgestone Names New Leaders at Aiken County Plants

Sept. 26, 2016

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC's (BATO) manufacturing plants in Aiken County, S.C., have new leaders.

Tim Painter, former operations manager for the company’s LaVergne, Tenn., manufacturing facility, has been named plant manager of the Aiken County passenger and light truck plant (PSR), replacing Fran Jones who was named manager of Bridgestone Americas Inc.'s talent development and education for the manufacturing group. Adam Barfoot, former operations manager for the Aiken off-the-road plant (ORR), has been named plant manager. He replaces Ron Brooks who retired in December 2015.

“Tim excelled at leading LaVergne’s operational teams with a constant focus on achieving key manufacturing metrics,” says Mitch Burke, executive director of consumer manufacturing for BATO. “I am confident his experience will result in continued success at Aiken PSR.”

Painter has 28 years of experience with Bridgestone, beginning his career at the LaVergne plant prior to moving to Warren County for its startup in 1989. He progressed to leadership positions in both plant technical services and the process engineering development division prior to assuming the operations manager role in LaVergne.

Barfoot has more than 10 years of experience at Bridgestone, and has held leadership positions at several of the company’s tire manufacturing sites, including operations manager and scheduling and industrial engineering manager at the company’s truck and bus tire plants in Middle Tennessee.

“We appreciate Adam stepping up and leading the Aiken ORR team after Ron Brooks retired, and we look forward to continued leadership success at the Aiken ORR Plant,” says Greg Harris, executive director of commercial manufacturing for BATO. “Adam was instrumental in the startup of the Aiken ORR Plant and will continue to play a critical role in the plant’s success.”
