Feb. 3, 2023

Apollo Tyres Ltd. has partnered with the Alpine World Ski Championships and the company's Vredestein's brand will serve as the official sponsor of the 2023 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in France.

The tire company will use the event, held Feb. 6th to 19th, to market the Vredestein brand and its lineup of winter and all-weather tire products.

It's a flagship winter sports event, and in 2021 the championships attracted a global television audience of more than 126 million people. Online coverage accounted for more than 357 million views and an excess of 11 million likes.

The Vredestein name will be featured prominently throughout the event, including on racers' bibs, banners and backdrops.

Among the high profile athletes competing will be Mikaela Shiffrin from the U.S. She's a two-time Olympic gold medalist and four-time world champion in the sport.

“This significant commitment to winter sports provides an ideal platform to increase awareness of Vredestein’s unique brand and product attributes,” says Abhishek Bisht, assistant vice president of North America for Apollo. “Our winter and all-weather tires have many natural synergies with the world of competitive skiing, in particular the shared focus on achieving superior standards of performance and safety on snow and ice.”

Bernard Front, Courchevel Méribel 2023 President, said: “As the organizer of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Courchevel Méribel 2023, we are always very happy to have a new partner who is committed to the mountain. Together, we are working to make this event a real showcase for the mountain and ski world. Thank you to the premium tire brand Vredestein for accompanying us and participating with us in this great celebration of French and international skiing.”
