Auto Plus and Pep Boys Continue 'Rapid Growth Strategy'

Aug. 12, 2016

IEH Auto Parts LLC and Pep Boys — Manny, Moe & Jack continue to grow the footprint of Auto Plus and Pep Boys stores with a two-store acquisition in New Jersey, plus the opening of a new corporate-owned Auto Plus store in Virginia.

The company has acquired Hapi Auto Parts, a two-store business in Hillsborough and Lebanon, New Jersey, and has opened an Auto Plus store in Christiansburg, Va., a suburb of Roanoke.

Serving their communities for more than 36 years, Hapi Auto Parts, led by the Nunn family, offers a full line of foreign and domestic auto parts. Rick, Dale and Jason Nunn, alongside their 20 employees, will continue to serve customers as their two locations become corporate-owned Auto Plus stores.

"Hapi Auto Parts is known for providing great customer service and the right parts to their loyal base of wholesale and retail clients, which will continue as they become part of the Auto Plus and Pep Boys store network in the area," says Auto Plus and Pep Boys CEO and president Brent Windom. "This acquisition increases our density in one of the company's top target markets, which already includes eight Auto Plus corporate-owned stores and a Pep Boys Supercenter.

"The Christiansburg, Va. corporate-owned Auto Plus location will help us aggressively grow our commercial and wholesale business in the region. It allows us to serve independently owned stores and service centers with an extensive parts inventory backed by an established Roanoke-based Auto Plus hub.

"We are very excited about these new locations joining our growing family of stores. With these additions, and the previously announced purchase of Leicester Auto Parts in Asheville, N.C. last month, along with other future acquisitions and greenfield openings, we are continually executing our rapid growth strategy."
