Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA) has made good on its promise to secure original equipment contracts with vehicle manufacturers.

Pirelli is now a domestic supplier to Ford Motor Co. According to Pirelli CEO and President Guy Mannino, Pirelli tires are being supplied for the Lincoln Town Car, Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis.

Franco Carini, vice president of OE worldwide for PTNA's parent company, Pirelli SpA, told Modern Tire Dealer in May that Pirelli's goal in the U.S. was to have 500,000 OE tires on North American produced vehicles in 2003.

Another 500,000 Pirelli tires are expected to come OE on imported vehicles, like the BMW Mini Cooper S.
