Last Chance: Honor a Young Leader in our Industry

June 27, 2016

This is the final week to join On the Rise, Modern Tire Dealer's new initiative recognizing young leaders in our industry.

The livelihoods of today's independent tire dealers depend on the work, talent, and technical intuition of the next generation. No matter where they work — in the dealership, in a tire company's lab or test site, or in a truck making deliveries — young leaders are pushing the industry forward.

MTD is celebrating the strength of these young leaders who are On the Rise. Look around your business. Is there someone under the age of 40 who deserves a professional pat on the back? Encourage them to nominate themselves for On the Rise. Here's the nomination form.

Josh Chalofsky has already taken that first step. Chalofsky is part of the two-brother team leading Simple Tire LLC. The 32-year-old is chief operating officer for the online tire retailer. But he got started in the industry in a way that so many others will recognize — doing odd jobs in his uncle's retail store. "Most of the time I spent loading and unloading trucks. It gave me a great understanding of all the different types of tires out there." (Get to know Chalofsky in a brief interview on page 18 of the June edition of MTD.)

The deadline for On the Rise submissions is July 1.
