Kenda USA has added a value-priced light truck tire for highway driving to its Klever line. The new Kenda Klever H/T2 KR600 is available to order in 14 sizes with anticipated delivery in the third quarter.
The Klever H/T2 has a 50,000 mileage warranty for LTR sizes and a 60,000 mileage warranty for P-metric.
The KR600 features a computer optimized footprint for excellent wear and handling under multiple load conditions as well as strong shoulder blocks that enhance handling and cornering stability, according to Kenda. Snow sipes and increased lateral groove densities improve traction performance, and driving stability in wet and snow conditions and wide circumferential groove widths improves hydroplaning and wet traction.
The Klever H/T2 was developed at the new Kenda American Technical Center in Green, Ohio.
The highway tire is designed for light truck vehicle platforms and SUVs, complementing the recently introduced Klever S/T KR52 which is designed for higher speed-rated CUV and SUV vehicles.
“Kenda successfully benchmarked the Klever H/T2 against the top Tier 1 and Tier 2 tires to show our customers that value is truly providing a great tire for a good price,” says Brandon Stotsenburg, director of business development. “Dealers can confidently replace OE tires with the Klever H/T2.”
He says Kenda expects to expand the line over the next 18 months with additional LT and P-metric sizes to match 16- to 20-inch sizes in the segment.
