Komaguchi Resigns from Toyo in Japan

May 27, 2016

Katsumi Komaguchi was named one of two representative directors of Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. on Jan. 1, 2016. Less than five months later, Komaguchi has resigned that position.

In addition, Komaguchi has resigned as Toyo's chairman -- a title he was given on Nov. 12, 2015 -- and director. The reason given for the resignations, effective May 27, was "personal matter."

Toyo also announced assignment changes for two other corporate officers, plus three personnel changes.

Yasushi Takagi remains a senior corporate officer, and a deputy general manager and general manager of the Original Equipment Sales Division and the Seismic Isolation Rubber Div. He is no longer general manager for the O.E. Sales Planning and Administrative Department.

Masao Takiwaki remains a corporate officer, chief compliance officer, and general manager of the Compliance & Legal Center. He is no longer general manager of the Compliance Promotion Dept.
