Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC), the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail (RTJ), and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) collected donations to help families in flood-ravaged Elba, Ala., as well as earthquake victims in Kumamoto, Japan.

Yokohama is donating $5,000 to the flood recovery in Elba and has already sent emergency funds to Kumamoto. Yokohama had donation boxes in place at its booth and other areas at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala., May 2-8.

“We are very close to the people of Alabama and are glad we can help families get their lives back to normal in Elba,” says Hideto Katsuragawa, CEO of Yokohama Corp. of North America (YCNA) and CEO of YTC. We are also doing the same for the city of Kumamoto, which suffered a devastating earthquake recently. We thank the patrons coming to the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic for their generous support in helping the disaster victims recover.”

Yokohama has been a valuable partner to the Robert Jones Golf Trail through the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic and is committed to giving back to the people of Alabama, according to John Cannaon, RTJ president.  “We are very grateful to Yokohama Tire Corporation for their involvement in Alabama and their generous donation to the City of Elba to help rebuild homes destroyed by the floods.”
