The NanoEnergy brand tire from Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. has been adopted as the original equipment tire for the new Toyota Prius.
NanoEnergy is Toyo’s global fuel-efficient tire brand. In order to strike a balance between fuel efficiency and wet grip performance, Toyo's Nano Balance Technology controls rubber material development at the molecular level. Toyo says the technology gives the tire both the high functionality and environmental performance demanded by the new Prius.
The NanoEnergy series will be used as the original equipment tire in Japan as well as in Europe, North America and other overseas markets where the new Prius is sold.
