Camso Opens a Plant in Vietnam

March 8, 2016

Camso Inc. has opened a solid tire manufacturing plant in Vietnam. The approximately 247,500-square foot-facility was built in 14 months.

The company says the plant will help it gain a leadership position in the Asian material handling market. “This new facility is a commitment to being the best partner for our OEM and aftermarket customers of the Asian market, and an investment to grow our leadership position in the material handling sector,” says Jean-François Ferland, vice president and general manager of material handling at Camso.

The new plant is located in the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park in Tan Uyen Town, Binh Duong Province. The company says it is an ideal location to diversify its manufacturing operations and improve the company’s competitiveness.

As the world’s fifth largest rubber producing country, Vietnam offers access to raw materials, competitive quality labour and a favourable industrial economic environment to conduct its operations, according to Camso.

Camso’s new facility in Vietnam completes the manufacturing footprint of the company with facilities in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Hungary, Italy, South Korea, Sri Lanka and United States.

Camso, formerly Camoplast Solideal, designs, manufactures, and distributes off-road tires, wheels, rubber tracks and undercarriage systems to serve the material handling, construction, agricultural and powersports industries.

The Magog, Quebec-based company has more than 7,500 employees and operates advanced R&D centres and manufacturing plants in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Camso is a supplier to leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and distributes its products in the replacement market through its global distribution network.
