LITDA Names Its 2016 Scholarship Winners

The Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association (LITDA) has named the four recipients of its 2016 scholarship. Each winner was awarded $2,000 for his or her academic excellence and proven community leadership abilities.

The scholarships are awarded to high school students who will be enrolled in an accredited college or vocational school and are children or legal wards of an owner, manager, or employee of an active LITDA member company. 

The four recipients of the LITDA 2016 Scholarship include:

Ryan Patrick Meraux, Covington, La., son of Jules and Melissa Meraux, Phil Meraux Tire Service. Meraux is a senior at St. Paul School in Covington, La. and plans to pursue a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.

Tanner Paige Wright, Lake Charles, La., daughter of Jon and Melissa Wright, Delta World Tire. Wright is a senior at Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles, La. and plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La. to pursue a bachelor’s in business.

Mackenzie Best, Lake Charles, La., daughter of Henry and Deena Best, Pumpelly Tire. Best is a senior at Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles, La. and plans to pursue a bachelor's in education.

Hailey Hutchison, Shreveport, La., daughter of Danny and Jennifer Hutchison, Moore’s Retread & Tire. Hutchison is a freshman at Louisiana Tech University pursuing a bachelor's in nutrition and dietetics.

The scholarship recipients will be honored March 5, 2016, during the LITDA 2016 annual convention banquet reception at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, Miss.
