Service Tire Truck Center Joins Oliver Rubber Network

Feb. 18, 2016

Service Tire Truck Centers Inc. (STTC) has joined Oliver Rubber Co. LLC’s North American retreading network, a move that adds intermodal tires to its retreading capabilities.

STTC has reopened a plant it formerly used for retreading medium truck tires and converted it to the Oliver process. The company will retread intermodal tires at the plant in Millville, N.J. STTC says the Millville plant will have initial capacity of 150 tires per day with production eventually ramping up to 300 tires per day.

With the reopening of the Millville facility, STTC is operating four retread plants. The company retreads medium truck tires at Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) plants in Bethlehem, Pa., York, Pa., and Millbury, Mass.

STTC is a Michelin truck and earthmover tire dealer. The company says the addition of Oliver retread products will expand its portfolio of commercial products and services to focus on intermodal business.

"With the addition of the Oliver product line, STTC is positioned to provide the right tread for any type of customer or government entity," says Walter Dealtrey, STTC chairman. "Intermodal companies realize the importance of having quality retreads to minimize their tire-related downtime. For us, Oliver will fill that need."

Oliver Rubber says the Millville plant will increase its capacity to service the southern New Jersey/Pennsylvania market with retreading and related services. The Oliver North American dealer network spans more than 100 retread shops.

"STTC has a long track record of helping commercial truck owner/operators minimize downtime and control costs while keeping their vehicles running at peak performance, an approach that aligns well with the Oliver brand," says Scott Murray, vice president and director of sales for Oliver Rubber. "We are excited about STTC joining the Oliver family."

STTC is No. 12 on the Modern Tire Dealer list of Top 100 Retreaders in the U.S.

Founded in 1955, STTC has over 40 locations in eight states. STTC, an independent dealer selling Michelin, BFGoodrich, and other brand name tires, produces more than 1,000 medium truck tires per day at its three MRT plants. STTC also offers earthmover products and Service Tech, a vehicle services and repairs division that offers both mobile and drive-in services. For more information, visit www.sttc.com.
