Groupe Michelin believes in status quo following Francois Michelin's retirement

May 28, 2002

Groupe Michelin has yet to indicate whether Francois Michelin, who stepped down as a managing partner on May 17, will be replaced in the company's hierarchy.

The two remaining managing partners, or gerants, are Edouard Michelin, who was named CEO in 1999, and Rene Zingraff. During its 113 year history, Michelin has at times been led by two managing partners and at other times by three.

Francois Michelin, 75, announced his 2002 retirement at the company's annual shareholder's meeting in 1999.
