Goodyear's Latest UHP Tire Is the Eagle Asymmetric F1 3

Feb. 1, 2016

The location wasn't exotic -- Washington, D.C. -- but the tire was. At the 2016 Goodyear Dealer Conference, the company introduced its latest ultra-high performance tire to the North American dealers in attendance.

The new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 is a premium UHP summer tire designed to deliver "commanding traction and precise handling in both wet and dry conditions," according to Goodyear. It features the following:

* an asymmetric tread pattern for powerful traction in turns, as well as enhanced traction on wet surfaces;

* a "grip-boosting" tread compound for increased road adhesion and superior traction;

* advanced construction tuned for ultra-high performance suspension systems; and

* a solid center rib to help provide quick response and an accurate, on-center feel.

The tire has a 100% original equipment fitment share on the Motor Trend Car of the Year, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. It also is OE on the new Tesla Model X.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 is available in six sizes. The size range will expand throughout the year, eventually reaching 19 sizes.
