Arnco introduces self-sealing polyurethane liner

Dec. 20, 2004

Arnco has introduced QuikGel, a self-sealing polyurethane liner that reduces downtime from flat tires by providing protection from punctures up to 1/4-inch in diameter.

According to Arnco President Larry Carapellotti, the liner was three years in development and is a lighter alternative to Arnco’s extensive line of polyurethane flatproofing fill materials.

"It has extra shoulder coverage for lateral punctures, optimized coverage in high-risk areas of the tire and maximum protection in the tread area versus the tread center line," he says.

It is sufficiently lightweight to allow the tire and vehicle to perform as designed. It also is centrifugally cast-balanced to ensure a smooth ride, and retreadable.

The OE-approved liner runs cooler than solid or filled tire options, adds the company.

Compatible with both bias-ply and radial tires, QuikGel is designed for skid steer, agriculture, telehandler, golf cart, lawn and garden and ATV tires. It also works with over-the-tire track applications.
