Goodyear will supply high performance sedans exclusively

Dec. 13, 2004

Goodyear tires will be original equipment on the SRT8 versions of the popular Chrysler 300C high performance sedan.

When the specialty versions, featuring an additional 85 horsepower, become available in January, they will come exclusively with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, size 245/45ZR20 in the front, 255/45ZR20 in the rear.

Mike Parnell, Goodyear´s vice president for OE tires, said the Eagle F1 Supercar tires feature an asymmetric tread pattern that enables high cornering capabilities, with large tread blocks on the outside shoulder for optimized forward and lateral grip, along with responsive steering and an aggressive appearance.

A unique racing-derived compound provides ultra-performance dry handling and traction.

"Our position on the SRT8 joins our fitments on Chrysler vehicles like the PT Cruiser, Ram truck, Jeep models and others," says Parnell.

The SRT8 sedans feature a 6.1-liter V8 engine, a performance suspension and Chrysler´s Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
