Kumho Tire reports customers in the United Kingdom gave its tires high marks in J.D. Power and Associates' 2001 U.K. Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Index Survey released last month.
Michelin finished in the top spot, with Kumho tires finishing above industry average, one point behind in a tie for second place with the Pirelli brand.
The more than 3,000 drivers polled about their first year of new car ownership gave Kumho tires high marks for ride, durability and low incidence of problems. The survey said that although "Kumho does not have the awareness or established image of the larger-volume brands, Kumho owners report fewer problems than do owners of most other tire brands, and this results in high satisfaction ratings overall."
Kumho tires are OE on the Volkswagen Polo in the United Kingdom.
