Officials from Black´s Tire Service are calling the company´s inaugural High School Tech Day "an overwhelming success."

The hands-on event, which was held this past Wednesday, involved auto repair students from four Columbus County, N.C., high schools.

"We wanted to find a way to get the students out of the classroom and see firsthand what they could do with the skills they are learning today," says Black´s Tire owner Ricky Benton.

"We want to help these students learn a trade so they can become productive members of society and make a decent living doing something they enjoy."
