Direct Tire celebrates 30th anniversary

Watertown, Mass.-based Direct Tire & Auto Service is observing its 30th year in business.

The four-store dealership is marking the occasion by donating 3% of its sales it the Greater Boston Food Bank from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31.

The campaign is expected to raise $30,000 for the charity, which distributes more than 20 million pounds of food annually to hundreds of hunger relief agencies, says Direct Tire founder Barry Steinberg.

Steinberg was Modern Tire Dealer magazine´s first ever Tire Dealer of the Year in 1993.

Direct Tire also has stores in Natick, Peabody and Norwood, Mass.
