RMA names board chair, general counsel

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) has elected Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Chairman, CEO and President Tom Dattilo to be its board chairman for 2005, while Laurie Baulig has been hired to be the group´s general counsel and senior vice president of regulatory affairs.

"Tom Dattilo has led the RMA board the past two years, during which the industry faced a number of challenges," says RMA CEO and President Donald Shea.

Baulig has worked with the RMA over the last three years as outside counsel, helping the association with regulatory filings.

"Laurie joins RMA with a solid working knowledge of several key issues facing the tire industry as it moves ahead under a new federal regulatory regime," says Shea.

In addition, the RMA has announced that Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. Chairman and CEO Mark Emkes will replace Dattilo as chairman for fiscal year 2006.
