Portland, Ore.-based Northwest Tire Factory LLC´s new distribution center in Salt Lake City, Utah, will start shipping on Sept. 1.
"We´re stretched to the limit here in Portland," where Northwest Tire Factory´s only warehouse is located, Nick Hodel, the distribution group´s CEO, told moderntiredealer.com this afternoon.
Northwest Tire Factory currently has 160 members with 180 total locations throughout 10 western states. The new warehouse "will take about 50 stores" off of the Portland facility´s back, he says.
The leased, 45,000-square-foot Salt Lake distribution center will ship to Northwest Tire Factory members in Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado and other adjacent states.
It will hold 60,000 passenger, light truck, industrial and other tires at top capacity.
Hodel also reports that Northwest Tire Factory is in the process of changing its corporate logo and paint scheme.
