Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will begin construction of an off-road light truck tire testing course at its test track in Pearsall, Texas, in September.

The Vehicle Test Center (TVTC) is a 1,000-acre facility with a dry handling track, wet vehicle dynamics assessment pad, and a combination slalom/traction pad with ride loops. Only 400 of the 1,000 acres have been developed.

TVTC, a subsidiary of Cooper, also includes a 16,500-square-foot headquarters with on-site computer work stations, a conference room and five service bays. It is located 50 minutes south of San Antonio, Texas.
