Two cities down, four to go for BFG Challenge tour

June 23, 2004

Four events remain in the "BFG Challenge" sponsored by Michelin North America Inc. The next event will be held at the Summer Sport Compact Slam in Englishtown, N.J., July 3-4.

The six-city tour was designed to give consumers a chance to test drive performance vehicles and compare BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD and KDW tires against competitive ultra-high performance tires. The tour features identically prepared NISMO-tuned Nissan 350Zs, Subaru WRX STis and Acura RSX Type S sports cars.

The vehicles are equipped with in-car video cameras to capture driver reactions during testing.

When consumers finish their BFG Challenge experience at the 8th annual BFGoodrich Tires Summer Sport Compact Slam, for example, they can log onto www.bfgoodrichtires.com/BFGchallenge to view footage of their track time.

The remaining three tour events are:

1. DUB Expo, Houston, Texas, Aug. 27.

2. Hyperfest, Sonoma, Calif., Sept 11-12.

3. NOPI Nationals, Atlanta, Ga., Sept 18-19.

The BFG Challenge kicked off in Los Angeles at the International Auto Salon earlier this year, then continued on to the Atlantic City International Auto Salon in New Jersey.
