ECI gears up for 2005 Brityrex and Tyrexpo Asia events

June 23, 2004

Brityrex International 2005 will be held May 10-12, 2005, at the Harrogate International Centre in North Yorkshire, England.

Paul Farrant, managing director of the event's organizer, ECI International Ltd., says stand space is currently being booked, with many booths already being reserved by companies from within the United Kingdom and overseas.

Among the exhibitors signed up to date are: Beissbarth UK, Bond International, Bulldog Remoulds, Cam Systems, Dundee Tyres, Finspa Storage Handling, Granutech-Saturn Systems, Haweka, Inter-sprint, Nordisk Daek Import, Safety Seal, Treadway Exports/Hercules Tire Company, Tyre Bay Supplies and Van den Ban Autobanden.

The three-day exhibition will offer visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to focus on the fastest areas of growth in the tire market. The show will encompass all aspects of the tire industry, from manufacturing to disposal.

The fifth Tyrexpo Asia, another ECI event, will take place at the Singapore Expo Centre Sept. 13-15, 2005. The show already is already 60% booked; potential exhibitors are advised that an early stand reservation is recommended.

The success of the 2004 Brityrex International and Tyrexpo Asia exhibitions, held earlier this year, is expected to carry over into the 2005 events.

The fourth Tyrexpo Asia event, held in February, achieved dramatic growth since the 2001 event.

In terms of exhibitor floor space, the show was 33% larger than the previous exhibition, with more than 100 companies exhibiting. Vistor growth was up nearly 60%; close to 3,000 visitors from 63 countries attended the exhibition.

According to Sales Director Rowena Suthers, ECI's research shows that the visitors at Tyrexpo Asia included "an exceptionally high proportion of decision makers."

"We are particularly pleased at the success we have had in creating a well-balanced exhibition, representing all parts of the tire industry and reflecting the increasingly global nature of the tire business," said Farrant.

In 2004, Tyrexpo Asia was supported by major regional tire manufacturers such as Federal Corp., Kenda Rubber, PT Gajah Tunggal and PT Mega Tires. A number of manufacturers from China also supported the exhibition.

Also present were a large number of tire wholesalers, including important local players such as Stamford Tyres, Global Traco, Mindtrac, and Omni United.

The tire retreading and repair industry was represented by companies including Italmatic, Newera, Kraiburg, Elgitread (India) Ltd. and Rema Tip Top.

"The show has made significant progress since last time," says Sudarsan Varadaraj, president of Elgitread. "We experienced a good mix of visitors, including a good attendance from outside the region."

"The people who came to us were the people we wanted to see," says Bill Conley of Taray International Corp. "We will certainly be back."

"We had a particularly good first two days at Tyrexpo Asia," says Lee Sing Lok of Big Wheel, an eastern Malaysian retreading company exhibiting for the first time. Big Wheel used the exhibition to launch its new Side Seal Technology, its envelope-free curing process.
