Upcoming FATA convention features panel discussion

The Florida Automotive Trades Association (FATA), representing the Automotive Service Association of Florida and the Florida Independent Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association, will host its third annual convention and trade show on July 23–25, 2004.

The event, themed "Teamwork... Overcoming Challenges with Solutions," will be held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina in Tampa, Fla. It will feature a panel discussion of current industry trends; panalists include:

* Jack Winterton, vice president of consumer tire sales, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.;

* John Cabiniss, chairman, National Automotive Service Task Force;

* Paul DeGuiseppi, manager of service training, Mobile Air Conditioning Society;

* Paul Mitchell, chief of staff, Florida Insurance Commission Division;

* Patrick Bell, FATA lobbyist, Lamonica and Bell.

Tony Molla, vice president of communications for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), will moderate the discussion.

Convention seminars include "Total Customer Relationship Management," "From Intent to Implementation" and "You Have the Right to Repair." A seminar on anti-lock brake service also is on the agenda.

Full convention registration is $195 for the first registrant and $175 for additional attendees. Children under 13 are free. Golf registration is $85 per player or $300 per four-some.
