Consumers who buy a set of four Cooper tires between Memorial Day and July 4 will receive an American flag and flagpole free of charge.
Cooper is providing its dealers with promotional materials for the campaign and will reimburse any cost incurred by dealers seeking local media coverage of the program.
Beth Barron, director of business development for Chabill's Tire Traxx, a Louisiana-based company, originally suggested the promotion, according to Cooper officials.
Last year, more than 200 tire dealers throughout the country gave away nearly 20,000 flags to Cooper tire buyers.
