Standards Testing Labs plans tire technology seminars

Tech's 2004 Tire Technology Seminars will be held June 8-10 and October 19-21 at the company's Massillon, Ohio-based testing and evaluation facility.

"This course is designed for both entry-level engineers and individuals who need to know about tires in their jobs. It covers tire basics," said Cheryl Schnuth, vice president, marketing.

The two-and-a-half day seminars provide a comprehensive overview of the technology of the tire industry. Tire nomenclature, raw materials and manufacturing, design, construction, testing, applications and other tire topics are addressed by a panel of engineering, chemistry, physics and tire industry professionals.

A registration fee of $800 includes admission to the seminar, all materials, three lunches, the evening banquet and refreshments throughout the course. STL will assist in reserving affordable hotel accommodations for out-of-town attendees.

The deadline to register for the June 8-10 seminar is May 24, and October 4 for the October 19-21 course.
