Tire Rack Cannonball racers raise thousands for charity

May 10, 2004

More than 150 racers in the 2004 Tire Rack Cannonball One Lap of America have raised an estimated $50,000 for a variety of charities.

The annual event ended this past Saturday at Tire Rack's testing facility in South Bend, Ind.

Charities benefiting from racers' efforts include Laps to Conquer Multiple Sclerosis and the Transplant Recipients International Organization.

"It will be a while before we know exactly how much money was raised," says Tire Rack's Matt Edmonds.
